Sunset Star

When I was looking to find the Cathedral Rose Window crochet pattern I came across this one. It is called a Six-Pointed Star Afghan. I made this for my husband's brother and sister-in-law as a baby gift. They have decided not to find out what they are having and so tried to go with bright, unisex colors. I had some left over red, orange, and yellow from a project I finished a few years ago. It did come out bigger than I thought it would, but think it will be perfect for snuggling on the couch or in a rocker.
This pattern can be purchased as Annie's Attic.
Hook used: US I
Yarn used: Red Heart Super Saver
0319 Cherry Red (4 skeins)
0254 Pumpkin (2 skeins)
0324 Bright Yellow (1 skein)
Bernat Super Value Yarn
07407 Winter White (1 skien)
This pattern was difficult, but now that I have the hang of it I want to do another one in different colors.

Baby Girl Octagon

I really enjoyed making this in the blues that I decided I wanted to do it again. This time for my friend Carrie as a baby gift. She is having her fourth girl and it took me awhile to decide which colors to do this time. I really like the color combo I decided to go with. Phoenix couldn't resist getting in some of the pictures.
This pattern can be found on the Octagon Baby Blanket post.
Hook used: US G
Yarns used: Bernat Super Value
53317 Lilac (1 skein)
53243 Forest Green (1 skein)
28315 Fresh Lilac (2 skeins)

This week we are learning to knit socks in our Saturday knitting class! I am very excited and will post more photo's after I have one fully complete!

Knitting in the Round

After the first week of knitting lessons I felt inspired to study all week and...here are the fruits of my labor! Berry sweet baby hats (pattern on ravelry.com) and a knitted cozy for my new hard drive (so it doesn't get beat up in my computer bag).
I LOVE knitting in the round! Super fun stuff.
